Leading Girls Down the Runway to Entrepreneurship

Girls will learn business and new venture planning, while creating a custom look!
At the end of the camp, girls will have the opportunity to rip the runway at 2018 Winston-Salem Fashion Week!

We invite girls ages 11 to 16 to join us for Girls Fashion Camp: “Leading Girls Down the Runway to Entrepreneurship.”  For girls interested in launching a fashion business, this one-week interactive camp is the place to be!

Girls will learn business, branding and marketing basics to launch a fashion business, as they spend a week creating their very own fashion look for the runway. We’ll take field trips and hear from fashion business experts. Girls will get ideas and inspiration as they explore how to make product selections and create original designs, with guidance from a local designer.

Local entrepreneurs and guest speakers will share fashion business success secrets, and girls will learn about the technology that powers successful a fashion business.  At the end of the week, girls will model their own design on the runway in our Designer Showcase!

The goals for this program are three-fold:

  1. Teach entrepreneurship skills to preteen girls in the Winston-Salem community; build confidence in the pieces they make and the confidence to show the audience at fashion week.
  2. Teach girls the importance of saving our environment, helping in our communities and breaking some of the stigma that comes along with shopping at a secondhand store.
  3. Teach girls to be smart with all expenses.
