Fueling family connections!
This year, we are shifting the focus of the LEAD-a-thon to fuel the spirit of togetherness among our LEAD families. We’re offering family-centered activities for children and adults, including a culinary workshop, a painting and affirmation workshop, and a physical movement session.
2024 LEAD-a-thon Activities
This year’s LEAD-a-thon features:
- Culinary Workshop: LEAD families will take part in a healthy food demonstration led by Second Harvest Food Bank. This engaging activity highlights the significance of healthy eating and provides families with an opportunity to bond while preparing nutritious meals together.
- Painting and Affirmations Workshop: LEAD families will engage in an arts and crafts activity focused on self-affirmation. Participants will paint affirming words on a wooden frame, creating a meaningful art piece. At the end of the session, families will take home their personalized artwork, serving as a reminder of the unique qualities that bind them together.
- Physical Movement: LEAD families will engage in dynamic, movement-fueled activities, including: a Hungry, Hungry, Hippo game; Hula-hoop competition; Egg race; Balloon popping competition; Mummy wrapping competition; and an Arts and Crafts competition. These fun-filled games promote active movement and strengthen connections as participants collaborate and work together.
